CJC-1295 + GHRP-6 Blend
Also known as: CJC/GHRP-6, Appetite GH Stack, Bulking Blend, Mod GRF 1-29 + GHRP-6, CJC-1295 no DAC + GHRP-6
Evidence: Preclinical
Overview
Vial blend of CJC-1295 without DAC (Mod GRF 1-29) and GHRP-6, 5 mg each; GHRP-6 raised GH in men and synergized with GHRH, and no study has tested this pair.
Vendors in the catalog sell this as CJC-1295 without DAC (Mod GRF 1-29) and GHRP-6, 5 mg each. Mod GRF 1-29 has no published study of its own, and its D-Ala2 substitution only extends the half-time of GHRH(1-29) to about 7 min in men (Soule 1994). GHRP-6, the first synthetic GH-releasing hexapeptide (Bowers 1984), raised GH dose-dependently in normal men and acted synergistically with GHRH(1-44) (Bowers 1990); the GHRH plus GHRP-6 test kept a GH response into very old age (Micic 1998). That synergy is the rationale for the pairing, but no study has tested this blend or Mod GRF 1-29 with GHRP-6. FDA lists GHRP-6 in category 2 for 503B outsourcing and CJC-1295 in the withdrawn-nomination table of its compounding safety-risk page.
Benefits
GH release (human, GHRP-6 IV); synergy of GHRP-6 with native GHRH (human, not with Mod GRF 1-29); appetite increase (anecdotal); body-composition and recovery claims untested for the blend
Dosing reference
- Research dose
- 200 to 500 mcg of blend per injection (100 to 250 mcg of each at the 5 mg/5 mg ratio), 1 to 3x daily: vendor/community range, no published human dose of the blend or of Mod GRF 1-29
- Range
- 200 to 500 mcg, 1-3x daily
- Reconstitution
- 2 mL bacteriostatic water
- Common vial sizes
- 10 mg
Subcutaneous in community use, usually fasted. Human GHRP-6 doses were IV: 0.1 to 1 mcg/kg in GH studies, 90 mcg in the GHRH plus GHRP-6 test, and 100 to 400 mcg/kg in a PK study. No human dose of Mod GRF 1-29 has been published. The 5 days on, 2 days off pattern is community convention.
Mechanism
Proposed, from component and class studies. Mod GRF 1-29 is a tetrasubstituted GHRH(1-29) analog acting on the pituitary GHRH receptor; its activity has not been measured directly. GHRP-6 activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a), and in men 1 mcg/kg IV also raised prolactin and cortisol about 2-fold (Bowers 1990). Given together, GHRH(1-44) and GHRP-6 produced more GH than either alone in men, which suggests the two receptors act through separate, complementary signals. Claims of cardioprotection rest on a pig infarct model for GHRP-6 alone (Berlanga 2007) and have not been studied for the blend.
Evidence
Preclinical: animal or in vitro data only
- D-Ala2 substitution, one of Mod GRF 1-29's four changes, raised the plasma half-time of GHRH(1-29) from 4.3 to 6.7 min in 10 normal men (Soule et al., 1994)
- GHRP-6 raised peak GH from 1 to 69 mcg/L at 1 mcg/kg IV and acted synergistically with GHRH in normal men, n=18 (Bowers et al., 1990)
- GHRH plus GHRP-6 (90 mcg each, IV) produced a preserved GH response in subjects aged 19 to 96 (Micic et al., 1998)
- IV GHRP-6 in nine healthy men: distribution half-life 7.6 min, elimination half-life 2.5 h (Cabrales et al., 2013)
- Human-trial status: no study has tested the blend as sold, and none has tested Mod GRF 1-29 itself. The human synergy data used native GHRH, not Mod GRF 1-29, and GHRP-6 is not approved anywhere

Side effects
No human safety study of the blend or of Mod GRF 1-29 has been published. GHRP-6 at 1 mcg/kg IV raised prolactin and cortisol about 2-fold in men (Bowers 1990). Commonly reported by users (anecdotal): strong hunger, water retention, lethargy after dosing, tingling in the hands. GHRP-6 is in category 2 of FDA's 503B interim policy (added 2023-09-29), and CJC-1295 is in the withdrawn-nomination table for 503A, as of 2026-04-22: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/certain-bulk-drug-substances-use-compounding-may-present-significant-safety-risks. FDA cites serious adverse events with CJC-1295, including increased heart rate and a systemic vasodilatory reaction.
