Storage & Handling
How to store peptides to maintain potency and safety
About 5 minutes
Lyophilized (Powder) Storage
Unreconstituted peptide powder is relatively stable. Most lyophilized peptides can be stored at room temperature for short periods, but refrigeration or freezing extends shelf life significantly.
Storage guidelines for powder:
- Room temperature (68-77°F / 20-25°C) — sealed vials are often stable for months (varies by peptide), but cooler is safer
- Refrigerated (36-46°F / 2-8°C) — stable for many months
- Frozen (-4°F / -20°C) — stable for 1-2+ years
Tip. If you won't use a peptide for a while, freeze it. Just avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstituted (Liquid) Storage
Once mixed with BAC water, peptides are less stable and must be refrigerated.
Reconstituted peptide guidelines:
- Always refrigerate — never leave reconstituted peptides at room temperature
- Use within 3-4 weeks for most peptides
- Some peptides (like Semaglutide) may last longer — check vendor guidelines
- Never freeze reconstituted peptides — ice crystals can destroy the molecules
Warning. If reconstituted peptide looks cloudy, has particles floating, or smells off — discard it. Don't risk using degraded product.
Handling Best Practices
Keep your peptides effective:
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- Don't leave vials on a countertop — return to fridge immediately after drawing a dose
- Use a dedicated shelf or container in your fridge (away from food)
- Keep BAC water at room temperature — cold water is fine but unnecessary to refrigerate
- Track reconstitution dates so you know when to discard
